Select Bachelor Degrees
Nashville State graduates who earned an associate degree may be eligible to select undergraduate programs at Austin Peay State University.
B.S. in Nursing
Belmont holds a maximum of 16 seats per year for Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science in Health Sciences.
Bachelor of Business Administration
Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration can transfer to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration.
B.A. in Music
Nashville State Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.) graduates have the ability to transfer credits toward a Bachelor of Music in Commercial Music (Performance Emphasis) at Belmont University’s School of Music. Students wishing to transfer credits must meet the audition and admissions requirements for Belmont and the School of Music. These students must also provide an official transcript of courses completed.
B.S. Business Administration
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Business Administration can transfer to
CSU to pursue a B.S. in Business Administration.
B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology
Nashville State graduates with an A.A.S. in Computer Information Technology with a concentration in Systems Administration and Management concentration can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology.
B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Management
Nashville State graduates with an A.A.S. in Business with a concentration in Management or a technical certificate in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.
B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration with a concentration in Forensics
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Criminal Justice can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration with a concentration in Forensics.
B.S. in Environmental Management
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Biology or an A.S. in Chemistry can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Environmental Management.
B.S. in Health Care Administration
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Health Sciences (BSN Nursing, Nursing A.A.S. or OTA A.A.S. pathways), an A.A.S. in OTA, an A.A.S. in Surgical Technology, or an A.A.S. in Nursing can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Health Care Administration.
B.S. in Information Technology
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Computer Science or an A.S. in Information Systems can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Information Technology.
B.S. in Information Systems and Cyber Security
Nashville State graduates with an A.A.S. in Computer Information Technology with a concentration in Cyber Defense can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Information Systems and Cyber Security.
B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Criminal Justice
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Criminal Justice can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Criminal Justice.
B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Forensics
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Psychology can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Forensics.
B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Psychology can transfer to CSU to pursue a B.S. in Psychology.
Nashville State business graduates can transfer up to 70 credit hours. Community college graduates are eligible to earn up to $16,000 in scholarship funds to finish their bachelor’s degree with the Cumberland Promise scholarship. In addition, graduates with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cumberland are eligible to receive a 5% discount on the university’s Master’s of Business Administration program.
B.S. in Nursing
Nashville State Community College and Herzing University in Nashville have established a transfer pathway that allows graduates of the College’s Nursing A.A.S. degree program to be eligible for application for junior-grade level standing in the University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
Lipscomb Online
Students who successfully complete the associate degree offered by Nashville State are eligible to receive a 20% tuition discount when they enroll in Lipscomb Online. Undergraduate programs are offered in business leadership, customer experience, data analytics, entertainment management, hospitality management, integrated studies, organizational communication, psychology, public administration, strategic leadership, supply chain and operations management, technology management, and nursing.
Guaranteed Transfer Scholarship Program
Through its existing Guaranteed Transfer Scholarship Program, MTSU may provide Nashville State students who transfer to the university $3,000 in aid per year for two years, or a maximum of four semesters.
B.S. in Professional Studies with a Concentration in Organizational Leadership or Information Technology
Nashville State Associate of Applied Science graduates in several concentrations may transfer credits toward a Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies with a concentration in Organizational Leadership of Information Technology.
B.S. in Construction Management with a Concentration in Commercial Construction Management
Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural, Civil and Construction Engineering Technology: Civil and Construction concentration can transfer to MTSU to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management: Commercial Construction Management concentration.
B.S. in Aerospace
Nashville State graduates with an Associate of Science in Aerospace Technology can transfer to MTSU to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace.
B.S. Accounting
Nashville State graduates with an A.S. in Business Administration can transfer to SIU online to pursue a B.S. in Accounting.

Bachelor of Science in Social Work in the Online BSSW Program
Nashville State graduates with a degree in social work may seek admission to the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Social Work (CSW) through Guaranteed Admission or Priority Admission beginning with the fall 2025 application cycle.
Guaranteed Admission is designed to provide a guaranteed admission pathway for graduates desiring a Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) degree in the Online BSSW Program (UTK CSW). Nashville State students who do not qualify for Guaranteed Admission may qualify for Priority Admission. Priority Admission is another transfer admission pathway, whereby Nashville State students, who meet qualifications, would be considered prior to those Nashville students seeking admission through the regular admission process.
To qualify for Guaranteed Admission to UTK CSW, a student must:
- Receive an Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Social Work from Nashville State; AND
- Earn a grade of “C” or higher in SWRK 2010: Introduction to Social Work AND SOCI: 1040 Social Problems OR any Social Work elective (e.g., SWRK 2030: Introduction to Social Welfare and Policy), as reflected on the Tennessee Transfer Pathway for Social Work; AND
- Earn a minimum of 60 transferable credit hours; AND
- Achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher by the time of application to UTK CSW, and must maintain that 3.5 or higher average until the time of matriculation at UTK CSW; AND
- Submit a completed application for admission and answer required essay questions, by no later than February 1st of the same year seeking fall entry.
To qualify for Priority Admission to UTK CSW, a student must:
- Receive an Associate of Science (A.S.) or Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Social Work from Nashville State; AND
- Earn a minimum of 60 transferable credit hours; AND
- Earn a grade of “C” or higher in SWRK 2010: Introduction to Social Work AND SOCI: 1040 Social Problems OR any Social Work elective (e.g., SWRK 2030: Introduction to Social Welfare and Policy), as reflected on the Tennessee Transfer Pathway for Social Work; AND
- Achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher by the time of application to UTK CSW, and must maintain that 3.0 or higher average until the time of matriculation at UTK CSW; AND
- Submit a completed application for admission and answer required essay questions, by no later than May 1st of the same year seeking fall entry.

- UTK CSW provides the Guaranteed Admission and Priority Admission opportunities for qualified students who meet the requirements. Guaranteed Admission for qualified students may be limited based on program capacity.
- Students denied admission into the Guaranteed or Priority admission pathway may be considered for admission into the Online BSSW Program (UTK CSW) or Knoxville campus BSSW program through the regular application review process.
- Admitted students are highly encouraged to apply for College of Social Work scholarships and university scholarships that are made available specifically for transfer students. Admitted students with at least a 3.25 calculated UT GPA are automatically awarded the Volunteer Transfer Scholarship up to $5,000 each year over two years.
